  • Abstract
The authors summarize the results of a study on solid oxide fuel cells (SOFCs). Emphasis is placed on the development of new sinterable lanthanum chromite for the separator and the development of a method for fabricating a planar SOFC by the inexpensive tape casting method. It is found that chromium-poor calcium-doped lanthanum chromite can be formed into a dense gas-tight plate by sintering doctor blade films above 1720 K in air. Composite plates are cofired from green foam membranes of distributors and dense green films of electrolyte or separator
