Abstract :
In order to reduce the high complexity of overlapped code division multiplexing (OvCDM) system, a novel simplified OvCDM (S-OvCDM) system with constraint length 1 is proposed in the paper. With reduced constraint length, system complexity is greatly reduced and bit error rate (BER) analysis is simplified. Design criteria of the novel system is set up based on its equivalence to bit interleaved coded modulation with iterative de- tection (BICM-ID). Novel encoding matrices are given for system with spectral efficiency greater than 4 bits/complex dimension. Furthermore, with optimized labeling strategy, the novel scheme achieves even earlier Turbo cliff than normal OvCDM system. Numerical experiments show the effectiveness of the new scheme.
