Abstract
Periodic packet transmission in fading channel is an important issue in wireless networks, where the nodes can save energy, as it is powered by batteries. In mobile radio communication system, communication takes place over time-varying channels. This time variation is called as fading. Fading is the direct result of multi-path propagation where radio waves propagate along different paths before arriving at the receiver antenna. In this work, a priority based selective transmission scheme for data stream in Wireless fading channels are analyzed. The priority selective scheme initialize rate setting for all the delay sensitive streams and appropriate messages priorities dynamically in the fading channel. Also a heuristic algorithm, named clustering algorithm is used to get optimal solution. A reward system is given to the data streams based on the data transmissions with priority. Simulation results demonstrate the effectiveness of the optimal solution and show that the proposed polynomial-time approach can achieve near-optimal results.
