Abstract :
Discrete nondiffracting beams are investigated in 1D photonic crystals within the paraxial regime, where the optical axis is transversal to the direction of periodicity. On the basis of the Wannier functions, wavefields are constructed showing a Bessel spatial envelope whose anisotropy is formulated appropriately as extraordinary waves in uniaxial crystals.
