Abstract :
Use of multistage surface pumping systems have been expanding as an overwhelming choice because of simplicity of design components, cost, system efficiency, maintenance, versatility of applications, and reliability to move fluids with higher volumes at higher pressures. For over 10 years, Kerr-McGee has used these pumps to inject fluids for water floods, disposal, and pipeline oil pumping offshore Gulf of Mexico from all of the deepwater spars. The multistage surface pumping system challenges conventional designs, but offers reliability, protection of environment and empowerment of operations with correct instrumentation. Best practice operations require proper installation, instrumentation and field commissioning for a good life cycle cost of operation
