Abstract
With respect to heterogeneous spatial data integration in a grid environment, this paper proposes a new method for integration, which has a core module as dynamic storage agent. Given the service-oriented characteristics of grid, this method adopts an XML-based virtual database strategy to furnish the conversion and integration of heterogeneous data during spatial data access, which provides an integral data view. In order to ensure efficiency of data register and query, the metadata model, being global and identical, is designed according to LDAP, which has a mechanism for mapping to the storage agent. The complex method for resource positioning has been discarded. It adopts a mechanism similar to the P2P, which is based on metadata and adapted to storage characteristics of spatial data. This method has been tested by an experiment, and is improved by further work.
