Abstract :
In fuzzification problems the shape of the membership function plays an important role. For the application of a fuzzy controller in industry, the TPE system is widely used. The important characteristics of it is that it is straightforward, efficient and independent of the number of rules. Nevertheless, from the point of view of statistics, a Gaussian membership function can better fit one´s intuition. When realizing the outside world, people often characterize their thinking process as a normal distribution. In the paper, good results have been obtained on a boiler by using a fuzzy control methodology with a GPE (Gaussian partition with evenly spaced midpoints) system
