Abstract :
The steady-state and dynamic behaviour of a three-phase, indirect current control, fixed-pattern rectifier is influenced by the commutation dead time of the switches. Although it has a favourable effect on the system dynamics, it degrades the line current harmonic distortion and fundamental displacement factors. A simple correction is proposed, resulting in a high-quality mains current waveform without the need for line current measurements, while maintaining an acceptable dynamic behaviour. All analytical results are verified by simulation and experiment on a prototype
