Abstract :
This paper presents a model that uses a hybrid, physical-behavioral approach to modeling fluorescent lamps. Using a hybrid approach has the advantage of reduced complexity compared to full physical lamp models allowing it to be implemented in SPICE and Simulink. Unlike behavioral models the model presented works over the full range of fluorescent lamp operating frequencies. The model does not require experimental data to be collected in order to calibrate the model for different lamp types, taking the lamp geometry and argon pressure as inputs to the model.
