Abstract :
Distributed generation (DG) is one of the most important innovations in the power systems. Among different types of distributed generation, fuel cells attract lots of attentions. The purpose of this paper is to discuss all types of fuel cell and their roles in the DG. The operational principles of each type are also explained. According to definite technical-economical indexes, comparison of these types is presented. At last, pioneering fuel cell technologies are concluded.
