Abstract :
In a soft-starter for 3-phase induction motor, if a 3-phase voltage supply is unbalanced, the unbalanced voltage condition gives bad influences such as a temperature rise, an increase of loss, acoustic noise and vibration, to the induction motor. In this paper, new unbalanced voltage compensation algorithm which switching angles are adjusted based on a voltage vector analysis will be presented.
