Abstract
It is shown that the Transmission Line Matrix (TLM) method provides a complete representation of complex electrodynamics by topological network structures. The Transmission Line Segment Circuit (TLSC) provides an extension and generalization of the TLM method, allowing also to include compact lumped element circuit models in the TLM modeling. We discuss the application of space-discrete models and network concepts in electromagnetic field theory. Methods based on these concepts are not only a basis for efficient numerical solution of complex problems but also versatile tools for problem formulation and solution.
