Abstract :
With the advent of 4G wireless systems, we face the exceedingly difficult task of modeling them. For the relevant technologies, such as LTE-advanced, both connection- and packet-level activities have to be modeled concurrently. Such systems support a variety of transport services. The difficulty of the modeling exercise is compounded by the dynamic mobile nature of such systems and its users, and the significantly different time-scales of events. We present a general modular framework that takes the Traffic-Centric Modeling approach to develop hybrid models of 4G systems.
