Abstract
A multilevel carrier-based pulse width modulation (CB-PWM) strategy has M-l carriers which can be differently selected from several aspects. The specifications and allocation of carriers strongly affect the converter performances. While investigating the influence of different types of carriers on the converter performances in frame of a general algorithm, the paper introduces some novel strategies and compares them with the already known methods.
