  • Abstract
This paper analyze the interference between Fixed Satellite Service (FSS) and Broadband Wireless Access (BWA) in the extended C-band. The paper is initiated with comparison with previous reports from telecommunication bodies. Detailed calculation on path loss effects, angle of interference and important parameters for FSS and BWA are analyzed to obtain a good account of the interference occurrence. Compared to previous published papers that analyze the significance of interference between the systems, this paper includes interference levels compared in different scenarios and detailed extensively for both single and multiple interferer models. By examining the scenarios, it is possible to take steps in pre-planning the locations of BWA base stations to minimize the interference level to allow coexistence. The paper gives a clear view of the interference occurrence that has become a widely debated issue in the telecommunication community. The paper also highlights the future works for interference reduction.
