Abstract
An energy-loss model of gas-fired domestic boilers operating at partial loads and providing heating and tap water permits the calculation, using experimental parameters, of their cyclic efficiencies, including the effects of tank losses. These results agree with experimental values obtained by testing a prototype combined boiler characterized by a high nominal output (35 kW) and capable of maintaining high efficiency when it operates at loads required by heating installation (below 14 kW). This system gives high-efficiency values on both services
