Abstract
A system for detecting and interpreting dynamic performances of coronary artery vessel skeletons from X-ray coronary angiographic image sequences is presented. Firstly, 3D displacement fields of vessel skeletons are quantitatively estimated from a pair of angiographic image sequences covering one or several cardiac cycles acquired from two nearly orthogonal views. Then, clinically important parameters describing arterial dynamics are extracted from estimated displacement fields. For convenience of understanding and application, these numerical results are finally transformed into symbolic ones to qualitatively describe coronary arterial motion during cardiac cycles. Experimental results with clinical data demonstrated the validity.
