Abstract :
In this paper, parallel-plate ladder waveguide (PPLWG) is proposed for mm-wave and terahertz guided-wave application. By using a rigorous full-wave method based on the generalized multipole technique (GMT), modal analysis of the proposed waveguide is presented. It is shown that the dominant mode of PPLWG has the same polarization as the TE1 mode of a standard parallel-plate waveguide and can be efficiently coupled to this mode. By presenting the results of simulation, realization of waveguide bend, filter, and delay line using PPLWG is also demonstrated.
