Abstract :
In the paper the results of a parametric analysis of the installations for the direct resistance heating of ferromagnetic steel bars of square cross-section are presented. The main installation´s design parameters (e.g. heating times, final temperature difference in the cross-section, current, power, power factor, thermal efficiency) are given as a function of the supply voltage for different values of the installation external reactance.
