  • Abstract
    This paper describes the power supplies designed for the electromagnet system of the SOLEIL third generation light source. This new source demands a very high level of performance from the power converters, notably in terms of current precision and stability. The means to reach such performances - mainly based on precise measurements and digital control with high resolution PWM - are detailed. As synchronized control of the different equipment is a major requirement, the high level control system of the power supplies using the Profibus-DP fieldbus is also presented.
