Abstract
In this paper, the convolutional perfectly matched layer (CPML) is modified and implemented for the leapfrog alternately-direction-implicit finite-difference time-domain (ADI-FDTD) method. The effectiveness of the CPML is compared with the CPML implemented with the conventional FDTD method and the original ADI-FDTD method. With the proposed CPML, a bowtie antenna is successfully computed. The results show that the proposed CPML implementation is effective and the efficient leapfrog ADI-FDTD method is now capable of modeling open structures.
