Abstract :
Secondary Surveillance Radar (SSR) is one kind of advanced air traffic control radars that provide aircraft position and identification to air traffic controllers. Recent growth of air traffic brings two problems that hinder the continuous aircraft surveillance to current independent SSR systems. Network connection is one solution for these problems. However, networking itself brings some problems. Taking both types of problems into consideration, we proposed the Autonomous Decentralized Surveillance System architecture and the Autonomous Continuous Target Tracking Technology (ACTTT). In the proposed network, each SSR autonomously coordinate for continuous tracking by sharing target information. In this paper, the Autonomous Decentralized System (ADS) concept and architecture are discussed to review fundamental characteristics for radar network. Then, the Autonomous Decentralized Surveillance System architecture and the ACTTT technology are discussed.
