Abstract
The author discusses the ENSCI advanced electrical energy storage systems, namely next-generation lead-acid batteries, which are superior to nickel cadmium and conventional state-of-the-art lead-acid batteries. Major advances have resulted in the fields of electrically conductive additives and maintenance-free bipolar lead-acid batteries. The bipolar lead-acid battery offers a near-term, high-performance energy storage system that is cost competitive with conventional lead-acid batteries. It significantly outperforms conventional batteries, yet takes advantage of the existing manufacturing and market infrastructure for lead-acid batteries
