Abstract
A novel feed network for phased arrays is proposed, which integrates functions of power divider and phase shifter into one structure. The approach can greatly reduce the number of the phase shifters and lower the cost and complexity and insertion loss of phased array. To validate and simplify the present approach in the design of more than 3 output ports, an improved design is also proposed. Finally, the 5-way present network with central frequency at 12 GHz has been fabricated and measured. The experimental results are in good agreement with the simulated results.
