Abstract
National music is often perceived only in general, without distinguishing the particular modal base. Teaching Azerbaijani modes is a challenging process. It is even harder to teach aural perception of Azerbaijani modes utilizing high technology, as Azerbaijani modes refer to the category of cultural values, which are difficult to formalize. The author has elaborated special models of the main Azerbaijani modes and a technique by means of which Azerbaijani modes are identified in aural perception. The author has also created electronic guide for teaching aural differentiation of the main Azerbaijani modes on the basis of those models and technique. The given guide may be used both in educational institution and self-studying. It is essential for students and teachers, professionals and amateurs of Azeri music.
