Abstract :
In recent years, various clean energies have been developed, and their practical use is expected for a fuel cell, a solar cell and so on. Since these are low voltage, voltage boost is needed in practical applications. This paper proposes a novel converter which is used for voltage boost using LC resonance. The switch is turned-on and off at the instant when current becomes zero due to LC resonance, that is called zero current switching. The resonant efficiency can be much improved by using double switch circuits, where resonance is implemented alternately and efficiently. This circuit would be effective for above mentioned new electric power sources. In order to improve various operational characteristics, PLL(phase locked loop) is applied to the control circuit. The proposal circuit is confirmed by the simulation and the experiment.
