Abstract :
Competency Definition data objects are used to specify competencies, skills and learning objectives in a Learning Management System and in Competency Profiles. This paper presents the main standardization works in this area, covering specifications like the IEEE Reusable Competency Definition, the IMS Reusable Definition of Competency or Educational Objective and the outcomes from official standardization bodies like ISO or CEN.
