Abstract :
The paper describes an algorithm that provides a quasi - optimal configuration of the medium voltage networks by changing the open / closed states of its switches. This algorithm consists in a successive load transfers from one feeder to another until loss reduction is less than a predefined value. This algorithm was implemented in applications software dedicated to assist the dispatchers of the Distribution Control Centers (DCC) in decision making to establish the minimum - loss configurations of the medium voltage distribution networks. The paper presents the principles of the adopted method, the main phases of the optimization process and finally, the experimental observations as a result of exploitation of this software in a DCC.
