Abstract
A technique for calculation of near-zone electromagnetic fields scattered by complex shape airborne objects is presented. It is shown that the direction line defined by a direction finder differs from the true one and depends on the geometry of the object, its electrical size and also on the mutual location of the transmitting antenna, object and receiving antenna. Results of numerical calculations for an object such as an airplane are presented. Calculations are carried out in the centimeter band. The angle of object elevation is constant and equal to three degrees.
