Abstract :
The system of automatic head position monitoring is designed for patient monitoring after an ophthalmologic surgery procedure called vitrectomy. The expansive gas bubble (SF6 or C3F8) or oil bubble is injected into operated eye to push on recovering parts. Correct position of the head during post-operative period is therefore important. Patient must keep his or her head in a defined position for several days or even weeks. Using traditional methods of postoperative investigation it has not been possible to objectively distinguish between complications caused by clinical factors and those caused by long term improper head posture.
