Abstract :
The atmospheric scattering of wireless ultraviolet (UV) light makes non-line-of-sight (NLOS) communication with a wide field possible. This paper presents a fast frame synchronization method for wireless UV communication. The proposed method uses short frame head symbols and interpolation processing for accurate frame synchronization. This method suits wireless UV unidirectional communications systems, whose traffic is dominated by image data packets. Three different frame formats called fixed length frame, synchronous frame and interpolation processing frame are tested and analyzed. The experimental results show that the effect of image transmission with interpolation frame format is best and this low-complex method can be used to synchronize a UV images communication system in unidirectional channels.
