  • Abstract
The security and authenticity of biomedical data are of the subjects of legal requirements. This paper proposes the use of digital watermarking to improve the security of biomedical signals transmitted over a wired or wireless network. The proposed scheme embeds a watermark sequence generated for each patient using the integer wavelet transform. Since for clinical analysis it is desirable that the watermark should not distort the signal in a way that can be perceived, the strength of embedded watermark is kept low. The embedded watermark is shown not only to be robust but has also to have the capability of blind tamper detection.
