Abstract
Investigations into the effects of PWM techniques on common mode voltage for inverter-controlled induction motor drives is presented. It is demonstrated by theoretical analysis and confirmed by experimental results that the zero switching states of inverter control invoke larger common mode voltage in comparison with the nonzero switching states of inverter control. New inverter control techniques without using zero voltage switching states are proposed in the paper. It is demonstrated by theoretical analysis and experimental results that the new inverter control techniques dramatically reduce the common mode voltage to 50% in comparison with conventional techniques
