Abstract
The report is devoted to studying the effect of three-dimensional (3D) inhomogeneity of the external steady magnetic field B¯0 on dispersion properties of magnetohydrodynamic (MHD) waves in a stellarator. As far as the helical magnetic field is usually weak as compared with the axial one then we can use a perturbation technique to solve the problem. The inhomogeneity of B¯0 is shown to result in the weak shift δω of the MHD waves´ eigenfrequency ω,ω=ω0+δω, where ω0 is the eigenfrequency determined in the zeroth approximation
