  • Abstract
Large numbers of publications have been devoted to studying the spectral characteristics of electromagnetic waves in circular material rods. In so doing it was supposed that either the rod was isotropic or the axis of anisotropy or the direction of an external magnetic field coincided with the geometrical axis. In Eremenko and Filipov (1996) and Filipov (1997) the waves in anisotropic and semiconducting rods were investigated assuming arbitrary directions of the mentioned vectors. In practical applications, it is interesting to study the waves in rods made from magnetodielectric materials, whose parameters are described by the components of tensor dielectric permittivity and magnetic permeability. In particular, these are ferromagnetic semiconductors combining magnetic ordering and large mobility of carriers, and also anisotropic ferrites. The characteristics of the waves propagating on such rods are obtained from the solutions of the Maxwell equations
