Abstract :
A discussion is presented of the application of analytic evaluation methods for the usability quality of interactive computer-based systems, including the author´s own SANE (skill acquisition network) method. The focus of this work is on the integration of usability evaluation and software engineering activities. In the author´s experience analytic usability evaluation methods in conjunction with efficient software tools and development methods for the user interface component of interactive systems can contribute to efficient development of user interfaces with a high-quality standard. The results of application projects in different application domains are described in terms of the applicability of such a method
