Abstract
Results obtained with acoustic Doppler current profilers (ADCPs) are reviewed. Examples that illustrate the range of investigations in which ADCPs are being used are presented, and some of the methods for using them are demonstrated. Included as a supplement is a bibliography of papers that use ADCP data or address methods used to collect ADCP data. The results presented were collected by vessel-mounted, self-contained, and direct-reading instruments
