Abstract
The shift towards commercial operation of the North American market has moved the focus of testing and modelling of turbine/governor systems to compliance with regulatory requirements. As the purpose of turbine/governor testing and modelling has changed, so too have the analytical tools, models and test techniques. This paper presents an overview of Ontario Hydro´s experience in this area, examples of the types of models and test results obtained over several decades and some projections as to trends and directions in the future utility environment
