Title :
Active mitigation of vibration in switched reluctance motor drives
Abstract :
High levels of torque pulsation and radial vibration continues to be the most impeding factor in application of switched reluctance machines in a wide range of products. Most of the efforts done to the extent of mitigation of these effects have resulted in reduction of efficiency or torque density of the SRM. Active mitigation of vibration is considered as a viable technique in which the typical deficiencies due to current profiling etc. can be minimized while a satisfactory operation in terms of acoustic response is maintained. This paper explores the concept of active vibration control in SRM drives. Sample experimental and simulation results are also offered to validate the claims.
