Abstract
In this paper, a novel bearingless switched reluctance motor (BLSRM) with double stator is introduced. Inside stator generates radial force to suspend the rotor. Outside stator produces rotational torque. In order to calculate the characteristics of the proposed structure, a finite element model is used. From the analysis, the proposed BLSRM has linear characteristic of radial force, decoupling control between torque and radial force can be realized. In order to realize steady suspension, a control scheme is introduced. Simple PID method and hysteresis current controllers are employed. Experimental results show the validity of proposed methods.
