  • Abstract
The author outlines five possible ways people manage their interpersonal conflict in the corporate setting: by avoiding, coercing, compromising, soothing, and confronting. It is pointed out that, of these, confrontation is the most productive. Five steps to confrontation include being upfront about a specific incident, explaining its effect on you, describing your feelings about it, communicating your needs and offers for future, and knowing to end it there. It is concluded that a person´s ability to manage interpersonal conflict communicates that person´s belief in his or her self-worth.<>
