Abstract :
A multiuser outline processor has been implemented on the platform of GroupSystems, an electronic meeting system developed at the University of Arizona. The multiuser outline processor inherits the advantage of encouraging revision of single-user outline processors, but it goes beyond traditional outline processors in (1) providing a graphic display of the outline, (2) enabling a group to interactively create and reach consensus on the details of the outline, and (3) enabling group participants to simultaneously enter textual documentation and to consolidate it for any topic in the outline. These functions make the multiuser outline processor an efficient tool for collaboratively creating technical documents.<>
