Abstract :
In this work, the homogenization design method (HDM) is proposed to design material microstructure made of environmental friendly constituents. This research aims at employing HDM techniques to design the topology of microstructure with specified mechanical properties and extend previous works to accommodate material design with three constituents phases. Special efforts have been made to design materials with unusual coefficients of thermal expansion, in particular, materials with zero and negative expansion properties
