Abstract
Summary form only given. The special Administrative Committee (AdCom) session in February looked at various definitive statements in the IEEE PCS constitution and bylaws, at other internal writings, and at IEEE PCS activities and products. It was noted that objectives are in three areas: scientific, literary, and educational. These objectives were expanded on by drafting two goals each for scientific and literary, and five for educational objectives. Three major constituencies were noted: engineers, communicators, and educators. Matrices were created to show how the IEEE PCS activities, products, and services meet the needs of these constituencies. The matrices suggested additional activities to complete the IEEE PCS mission: select more engineering-oriented topics for Transactions papers and special issues; make focused proposals to other societies for joint projects; encourage chapter formation and activity; invite engineer presenters to IPCCs; and reach students.<>
