Title :
Recycling technologies in Hitachi

Abstract :
Hitachi has developed a disassembleability evaluation method (DEM). DEM is a method of analyzing the disassembleability and recycling of products and helps to ease the recycling process. Since most of the energy consumed during the life cycle of a product is during its operation, energy-reducing features need to be incorporated at the design stage. Hitachi is promoting this, and is also making its products lighter. This is the key to producing environmentally conscious products (ECP)
