Abstract
An overview is presented of suboptimal sequential detection processes for the regeneration of disturbed and distorted data signals. The algorithms used are known from the theory of convolutional codes. They were transformed for intersymbol interference systems. Some algorithms are described, and the corresponding simulation results show that they are well suited for the detection of severely distorted data signals
