Abstract
An experiment for generating power up to 150 kW using wave energy is described. The principle of the basic scheme is explained. It consists of an oscillating water column activating an air turbine, which in turn drives an induction generator connected to the local 11-kV grid. The turbine and generator are described. The suitability of employing induction generators in wave energy systems is analyzed. The current status of the project and future plans are discussed
