  • Abstract
Industrialization in low earth orbit (LEO) and on the moon and the development of very expensive space transportation which includes crashporting, mass driving, solar sailing and genporting are discussed, and some potential applications are considered. These include the use of giant screens about the L-1 point of the Earth-Sun system to prevent flooding of coastal regions; large Earth-orbiting mirrors to modify the weather; and solar power satellites for terrestrial electric power supply. It is proposed that these goals be achieved by the creation and nurturing of an international supra-nation called Celestia
