Abstract
Summary form only given, as follows. In this paper we demonstrate the use of the augmented Harmonic Balance technique, otherwise used for RF power amplifier analysis, for stability analysis and characterisation of nonlinear CRLH TL circuits. Both Hopf and flip-type bifurcations were identified in a varactor loaded, 20-stage symmetric-pi NL CRLH TL circuit. The parametric frequencies corresponding to the phase matching (three wave mixing) condition were identified. The numerical predictions agreed closely with measurements.
