Abstract :
EPRI´s Flexible AC Transmission Systems (FACTS) project establishes one of its goals as making more efficient use of existing transmission line rights-of-way. It also expresses concern with the effects of 60 Hz magnetic fields on the health of humans. High phase order transmission line design is an innovative transmission line design technique which addresses both of these issues. This paper investigates sequence and phase impedances for various fault types on high phase order transmission lines. In order to develop a strategy for recommending impedance (distance) relay settings
